Bought this to use with my TV signal converter/recorder. It had to be fast, because conventional USB drives can't keep up. When testing on a computer, it got very hot, too hot to touch, when transferring a large number of files. (They have a warning on the packaging so children don't touch them). But only TV recording/playback is heated, but not hot. It comes in exFAT format. This is not compatible with the TV's recorder and although the TV's device has a formatting function, it does not recognize this USB drive to reformat it. So I reformatted it to NTFS with Windows 10. The TV claims to recognize NTFS but still doesn't. So under Win32. Windows 10 will recognize something larger than 32GB but won't format it to Win32. I ended up reformatting to Win32 using a Linux machine. Full format, no quick format. After reformatting, the TV recognized this and I've been recording 2-3 hours a day (I only watch a few of them) on it for over a month. Because it's heavy and cumbersome, sticking out of the front of a small TV box. , plug in a USB extension cable (initially from the antenna kit). There is also spacing between both for better cooling.
