Review on 🚧 Black Outdoor Safety Gate by Cardinal Gates - 29.5″ Tall by Bernadette Hardy

This is a decent value for the price and it's nice to have all the hardware to attach the gate to the patio. The instructions could be a bit more detailed. I found that the six inches off the bottom is for the screw to pierce through from the hinge side. Six inches basically gives you about 1.5 inches of ground clearance. (See image) If you need more ride height, subtract your desired ride height up to 1.5 inches. Add this number to six inches. The screw has to be drilled that much higher. I recommend not going under six as this will cause the gate to drag. I also recommend putting a spirit level on the gate before screwing on the latch side to make sure it isn't sagging too much and is level with the ground. As other reviewers have written, the locking system is stupid. After releasing the latch, all gates will raise to release the latch mechanism. To test this, my seven year old daughter was able to open the gate on the second try. So it's not too difficult. It just takes some getting used to. With all the bolts in place and tightened, especially the bolts securing the width of the gate, it looks pretty solid. Installation is expected to take an average of 15 minutes.
