This is one of several SSDs that work out of the box with your iPad or Mac without reformatting. Considering that my 2017 iPad Pro uses a Lightning connection, which cannot deliver power, I connected it to Apple's camera port using the included USB-3 to USB-C cable as shown. The drive then appeared in the iPad Files app. The transfer of various files and photos went very quickly. Newer iPads with USB-C ports can be connected directly to the drive using the included USB-C to USB-C cable. The drive is small enough to carry in my bag with my iPad and other accessories. I like that I don't have to constantly look for a way out. My only concern is that it is so small that I might lose it!
