This review is for the SGX-650 (650W, fully modular, SFX-L form factor). I like everything about this PSU except one; Cable. The PSU itself looks well made, it's not flimsy or toy-like, the finish feels industrial and solid, the placement of the modular power connectors is excellent, and the 120mm fan provides adequate cooling for gaming loads, ever louder than anything else. still on my system. Cables, on the other hand, while decent quality with solid connectors, are totally unsuitable for use in a small form factor case. Flat cables might seem like a great idea at first, but these are way too stiff and keep their folded shape to come out of the box. I don't have much of a problem with smaller cables like SATA and Molex, but larger connections like PCIe, CPU and 24-pin are not acceptable. I ended up stripping each wire from each of the others to make them act like standard cable, making them a lot easier to work with. With the wires separated, I was able to route the cables the way I wanted, tie them in strategic places, and generally tidy up the wiring in my SSF case where I couldn't before! Overall the power supply itself is amazing, I just wish the cables weren't so stiff.
