They are beautiful. This is just what I needed to decorate my windows from the inside so I don't have to climb stairs or go to the roof. Each star is separate and powered by 3 AA batteries. The division makes it easy to place stars where you need them. I only gave four stars because there are no instructions and it took me a while to figure out how to set the timer. The seller asked several questions about this and could not answer them clearly. Here's what you do: Turn on each star, then point one of the remotes (there are 3 in the kit) at each battery while pressing the timer button. When the lights flash and then come back on, the timer is set. I haven't checked if they stay on for the full six hours, but I know they were off when I checked them six hours later and they came back on 24 hours later. I set the timer with the lights on all the time (program 8) so it was easy to see when the timer was set. I'm not sure if you need to reset it after changing programs as I haven't tried.
