The bag is a well constructed bag. I wanted to use it as a gym bag because I go to the gym most mornings to go play pick-up basketball games and wanted to be able to attach the basketball instead of always carrying it (not a big issue, just wanted some more convenience). It works, it holds the ball but where my issues lies is that I also shower at the gym after playing ball/working out so my bag is pretty packed with clean clothes, shower accessories, towel, sandles, etc. So my bag is stuffed and the issue for me is that the basketball netting is not stretchy and that's probably for durability reasons which is fine but there isn't any adjustments on the straps either. So I have a tough time getting the ball in place with a stuffed backpack. If you don't plan on using the net to hold a ball, the backpack is comfortable, sleek, and durable!
