This is a cute item for Christmas. One thing that bothered me was that it was packaged in a box with two pieces of styrofoam on either side for protection. It was extremely difficult for me to get it out of the box so I was able to keep the box for storage without damaging the item itself. The styrofoam was quite dense in the box. I ended up having to break up the styrofoam to get it out and I just need to find another way to protect it when I put it away after the holidays. It's not a good idea to pull on an item as the parts that make it up are quite fragile. I had a shorter snowflake pin that broke off during shipping and needs to be glued on. The item itself is cute and festive. You have to turn it upside down to put the batteries in (another thing that annoyed me as there are a few places to hold onto the base so you don't have breakable parts like the fence around it break). There is an on/off switch on the back. You can turn the backlit music on or off. There is no way to adjust the volume of the music. I usually just use the light anyway, but that can be a problem for some as it's quite noisy. This is a good article. I think it's a bit expensive as it's made of thin plastic and easy to break.
