Review on πŸ”₯ Alphacool 17426 GPU RAM Copper Heatsinks - 10x10mm (10pcs) | Passive Coolers for Efficient Air Cooling by Devin Girard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Heavier and better thermal conductivity compared to aluminum

Used for VRM on Vega 56 after removing the fan and installing a non-original air cooler on it. I had to shave/cut some of them because of the air cooler mounting feet, but they still cooled the VRM pretty well. They each weighed about 4.8 grams versus the average 2 grams for aluminum. Copper is almost twice as thermally conductive, plus these fins were much thinner, so heat transfer is much better. Because of this I was able to overclock my Vega well and it's super quiet compared to the old cooler. I attached my picture after installation. I know it's ugly, but the thermal processing is significantly better on the GPU. Since the entire fan assembly absorbs the heat from the VRM directly through the thermal pad, the thermal performance of the VRM isn't that good, but always below 70 degrees, typically high 40, low 50 during gaming (it also overclocks with extra power running through you !).

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
