Review on πŸ”Œ 8 Ft Heavy Duty 7-Way Plug Inline Trailer Cord by Leisure Cords | Weatherproof Double Prongs Connector by Kenneth Barnes

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good quality wrong wire color coding

So I added a trailer junction box to my 18" flatbed trailer so I can install an extra 4 pin connector so I can hook up the taillights on my Jeep to work with it to work the trailer lights for extra visibility when towing. I ordered this 7 pin connector to replace a trailer connector that I cut off to patch in the junction box. If you're unfamiliar with these boxes, each pin is clearly labeled which wire and which color wire goes where. For example, white is always grounded. All white ground wires go to this stud. These colors should be standard on all trailers, so you can easily replace a broken 7-pin connector, for example. And that's where my 3-star rating comes in. This connector is NOT connected to the correct colors on the correct pins. Some of them are there, but at least half of them aren't the color that should be on the pen. I found the tail, left turn, right turn and most importantly the BRAKE cable was not color coded correctly and was mixed up. In my first test, half of the headlights didn't work properly when connected to my truck. I had to spend an extra 10 minutes with a multimeter and a trailer plug wiring diagram trying to figure out which wires were actually which in order to connect them properly. Diagram before installation.
