Maintaining gum health is paramount to preserving your teeth (and your health) as you age. I remember reading a section in YOU: Staying Young about how plaque from your mouth can contribute to heart disease and that once your gums lose adhesion to your teeth (due to poor oral hygiene), you cause a host of other problems. My dentist is at UCLA. It is recommended to use a rubber tip to remove plaque that cannot be removed by brushing and flossing, so this gum stirrer is really good for maintaining good gum health.
