I usually buy incandescent bulbs for $35 and put them in my cases before installing them so they work properly and last about 1000 hours before they noticeably fade and I start to thinking about replacing them. and then finally break down and actually do it around the 1500 hour mark when it becomes impossible to see in anything but a completely dark room. I decided to spend the extra money on this unit in the hopes that I don't have to work on it before installing it and have good brightness between bulbs for a bit longer. I was pleasantly surprised that it installed properly in its case and looked like a decent bulb, although none of those secondary bulbs stand out from the other when you hold them in your hands. I installed it and immediately noticed that the bulb was no brighter than the bulb I was replacing. I figured I'd give him a few hours to break in and maybe brighten up. But that didn't happen. As a result, the color didn't turn out very well, with a slight green tint. This light also sometimes flickers noticeably and then goes out for about an hour before blinking for a while. Nothing major, but enough to give you a headache for reasons unknown, like listening to a radio station that's slightly out of tune. You don't realize how bad it was until you turn it off and everything gets better.
