This is not a HEPA filter and I already have one in my bedroom. I installed it on a bedside table in the far corner of the room from the HEPA filter and set it up to automatically purchase replacement items. When the replacement element arrived, I was surprised at how much dust the old filter collected! It has a very quiet fan mode and I always leave it on. I cut out a small piece of cardboard to fit over a small area on the control panel that also lights up in sleep mode. So this device doesn't disturb my sleep at all. And it helps keep my room clean so I sleep better. Even HEPA filters don't remove all dust; In addition to one in my bedroom, there's a huge one in the living room, one in my office, one in the dining room, and one in the laundry room. I also use a 3M Filtrete 1000 (high MERV equivalent) in my oven and a high end vacuum with its own HEPA filters. Another air filter never hurts, as this aptly proved.
