Not as expected
Although they are called mittens, that is not an accurate description. There are sleeves/finger-to-toes inside that negate the warming benefits of real mittens. Gloves need to be bulky to provide warmth, but bulk means they have a hard time slipping through ski or trekking pole wrist loops. Hand warmers are of little use, while a mitten provides the necessary freedom.
