I was nervous about buying this for my textured bath but I really needed one for my toddler who slipped in the bath. I took a closer look at my bathtub and saw that it has textured squares but is smooth all around the bottom and also between the squares. I figured if I could glue at least one long edge of the mat (where it's not textured) it might work. Of course the mat stuck to the two surrounding edges as well as some of the inner suction cups and that was enough to hold it! Even when my little one and I were there during the bath, it had a constant weight to help keep the other side down. Even in a bathtub 1/3 full of water, the carpet didn't float at all. My little one was very happy about it and walked on it very well. Love the hanging hook.
