I have a 2011 Ford Escape which I am very impressed with. It was virtually trouble free for more than a decade and 120,000 miles until the rear cargo door latch suddenly stopped working. I checked YouTube and found this issue to be quite common with Ford Escapes. It looked like a simple solution. I found this part here on Revain. The job took about 30 minutes and was relatively easy. This part fits perfectly and looks high quality. You will need a pry bar and a Phillips screwdriver to (gently) remove the plastic cargo door panel, and then a T-27 Torx to replace the part. Once installed, don't forget to double-click the unlock button on the keychain! Examination of the broken part showed that the 1 inch plastic lever connecting the latch to the electric motor was broken. The estimate to fix this in store was $275. Gotta love Revain and YouTube! The loading hatch works great again!
