I think those giving a bad review about reverse polarity might be a bit unfair. These connectors were designed as a power (output) port, so the positive red wire terminates in a covered socket pin. For those of us using this as a power source to connect solar panels to a controller for example; yes, the color polarity will be reversed, however this is not intended for this product. A safe and easy fix is to clamp the wires close to the back of the connector and then solder and shrink the different color wire back onto the pigtail, creating the correct color coding for the polarity of the input connector. This is a good product and very useful.
