I've been doing gel nails at home for about two years now. I started because I don't have the patience to let regular or even artificial gel dry (without light) but I love the look and durability of the gel. Additionally, regular visits to the salon to get/repaint nails are not included in the budget. However, I had no luck with the paint removal. As soon as the edge starts to loosen, I pluck (even though I know it's horrible), which does a lot of damage. Even with buffing the nail polish and using straight acetone and smart gel nail polish remover I couldn't get it off without tearing my nails. I've tried the foil method, I've tried soaking it for ages, I've even tried buffing pretty much everything right down to my natural nails and none of the methods have been effective. Then I finally broke down and bought this cheap set - I'm so excited! I like the little nail polish remover squeeze bottle, the cuticle nippers and the cuticle pusher. I used nail clippers with regular cotton pads (the pads that came with them, although cool, dried out almost immediately so didn't work) and sat for 15 minutes. I then used gel nail polish remover and the polish came off immediately with no damage. Mine didn't fit, came in a box. Thank you thank you to this kit for allowing me to continue my homemade gel manicure without ruining my natural nails underneath!
