Review on 🐠 AQQA Aquarium Electric Power Sponge Filter - 3W/5W Submersible Foam Filter for Saltwater and Freshwater Fish Tank by Angel Larson

This seems to be exactly what I was looking for. My intention was to replace the power filter with this and the foam filter which requires an air pump. The ratings were the highest of any product I've seen at Revain. There are no 1 or 2 star ratings at all. I have a standard 10 liter tank. I ordered a small filter because the picture says the overall height is 6-9 inches which is perfect for a well maintained 10 gallon aquarium. As you can see from my photos, the smallest overall height after assembly was almost 12 inches. not the 6 inches shown in their picture. It barely fits in an empty 10-gallon tank. What worries me the most is the speed of the water flow. put it in the tank. But I can't put it in the tank because it's too long to fit in. I can easily adapt the riser to the tank, but if that doesn't work I might not send it back and will no doubt void the warranty as well. If necessary, I could reduce the speed a bit. I could do this by replacing the beads with a high density carbon fiber filter, but I don't know what effect that would have on the engine. Bottom line, the riser would be shorter, it would already be in the tank. I used a five gallon bucket to try it out and it's really impressive. super quiet. I'm still undecided on the flow rate, but I have an easy way to get around this if need be. Pearl chambers are very versatile. I have problems with phosphates in my water. It was easy enough to cut off a piece of phosphate filter material and place it on top of the beads. I'm particularly impressed with the inclusion of a venturi in the diffuser nozzle to help aerate the water. Obviously someone put a lot of thought into this design. At this point I would recommend it with the understanding that it is almost a full 12 feet tall at its shortest point. If your tank can handle that height, this pump is worth the money.
