Hose as advertised. It works with my central vacuum from 1967. Two small drawbacks: 1. The hose is not very heavy. If you step on it, it will be crushed. It returns to its original position quite well, but my other vacuum hose won't break if I accidentally step on it. And believe me, sooner or later you will step on it.2. There is a small ventilation widget at the end of the handle that allows you to adjust the suction power that actually reaches the working end of the vacuum cleaner. The thing keeps spreading as I vacuum, reducing suction power. I need to stop what I'm doing and close it again. I can't see why you would ever want to reduce the suction power of a vacuum device, so I think I'll probably epoxidize it in the closed position.
