These hinges came in a small tightly packed box along with a plastic bag with screws. All hinges were in perfect condition; no stains, scratches or kinks in the metal. They have the standard thickness, as expected. Standard size screws for doors. A few other reviewers mention that they wish the screws were longer; However, this size is a standard size screw and you should expect them to send a standard size. no longer than normal. If you are not satisfied with the standard screws, get longer ones. But you use 3 screws for each hinge. They should not hang on the doors and 2 hinges with 3 screws on each side of the hinge should easily support the weight of a hollow or solid core door. However, if you intend to hang your doors or possibly let children swing on them, use longer screws at your own expense. In my particular case, I did NOT remove or even try to remove the pin from the hinges. I did not have to. I was replacing old doors in my house so I used the existing grooves from the old hinges on the door frames and measured them to fit the new doors. I then attached the new hinges to the frame and my son brought the door up to the new grooves which I cut into the door and attached. Thus, the loops do not have to be removed. I have a set of 18 and will buy the same brand if I need more in the future (regardless of quantity). One more note: I bought a door hinge tool that I used to cut. The slits for the buttonholes with my router and the buttonholes match up perfectly with the template cuts I made. So I know they have been properly treated. If you have a router, I highly recommend a door hinge cutter. Huge time saver and great job with these loops.
