Review on 🎡 Black Micca OriGain 50W x 2 Compact Stereo Integrated Amplifier by Laura Mason

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised.

I've spent a lot of time reading reviews and watching YouTube videos about these cheap class D amps. My main concern was whether they would put out enough power to achieve the desired sound level. I replaced a 100w Kenwood amp with a channel I wanted to use elsewhere. I chose the more expensive Micca version of these amps because the power supply was rated at 24V at 4.75A rather than the lower voltage which promised to maximize output power over cheaper competing products. Since a traditional stereo receiver with higher output power would cost twice as much, I figured it would be a good deal if it actually delivered the performance it promised. Now I can say that this little amp drives my two (one per channel) 8 ohm Polk Audio TSi100 speakers really, really well. I cranked the volume on the Kenwood amp to the highest level I thought I'd ever need and repeated the same volume with this Micca Origain. The room measures 24' x 26' with a 10' flat ceiling and hard floor. The sound level in the middle of the room was around 83 dBA according to my cheap dB meter. The speakers are 12 feet apart and mounted on a wall 8 feet off the floor. I also use the subwoofer output to connect a Polk Audio PSW10 active subwoofer. This also works very well. There was no noticeable hiss at very low volumes and no noticeable distortion at high volumes like I used it. There is a slight imbalance in left and right volume at very low volumes, but I don't expect to use it at this low volume. I really had to listen to hear at all, but my speakers are too tall to put my ear right next to it. I am satisfied with the performance of this amplifier. Carpeting would probably reduce the noise level a bit, so take that into account. This is an honest review. I review what I buy for myself at the same price as everyone else. I do not do reviews in exchange for free or discounted items or any other form of compensation.
