I got a set of 8 to cover several hose bibs, garden hoses and spray nozzles. I still have a couple leftover as spares. I'm very happy with them and may get another set to keep around as spares.I have the internal threaded version. The "male" part has flat edges so that you can tighten (or loosen) them from your hose or nozzle with a wrench or groove-joint pliers. I did have to get these seated well to avoid leakage on that end. My water pressure is at about 60-65psi, and I'm experiencing zero leakage. They seem to be all brass as claimed, and very sturdy. The exposed rubber ring on the "male" part is what seems most likely to give out first. These and your hoses will last longer if not left out exposed to sunlight. There are plenty of spare washers in the set in case those wear out.
