Killed my fish! I was unaware of the dangers of open UV light, the tank cleared up within a day of starting, but after 12 hours in a 75 gallon tank my fish were acting strange and laying on the bottom of the tank, i examined and it looks like the light spectrum is UV-A which caused me fish cancer, they all died within a day, tomato clowns, powdery smell I have had for 5 years, anemone also closed and died a day later, Water tested and all values are optimal, the only change was the UV sterilizer. This is bad, I will not use it again. If you need a sterilizer, buy a closed type that does not shine on living things. Only buy this if you plan on putting it in your filter or sump, which is also bad for acrylic tanks.
