In general, the lens was a pleasant surprise. From an optical point of view, it is practically not inferior to the expensive and heavy older brother XF 55-200. Sufficiently sharp, holds backlight well, moderate aberrations. The body is completely plastic, including the mount, but the plastic is good. On the one hand, this does not contribute to reliability, but on the other hand, it allows it to be really easy. The assembly is Chinese. Despite this, the quality is slightly higher than analogues for mirror systems. The lack of controls greatly slows down the work, but you still canβt shoot quickly with such glass. For reporting, you need to take the XF 50-140 / 2.8 already. When the focal length decreases, it blows very strongly through the mount onto the matrix. Thus, it potentially drives dust onto the matrix. In general, the lens is not bad. I preferred it to the XF 55-200 primarily for its low weight.
