Review on Schumacher SC1359 Automatic Battery Maintainer by Ryan Lindstrom

This review is for sc1359. The best I can say about it is that it really works. The biggest problem with this so far is that there is conflicting information in the manual as well as on the box and extras. I wanted it for agricultural use and for charging deep cycle marine batteries on my boat. The packaging states that it is ideal for marine batteries and will charge standard, AGM and deep cycle batteries. It sounded like what I needed. But what I learned about the charger was a choice: standard, AGM, or gel, with no mention of a deep cycle lead-acid battery. I called support and the guy first said to use the AGM setting. After further discussions, he said that the default setting would probably work. I've never heard of charging deep cycle marine batteries anywhere else in an AGM setting, but it will probably work just fine. It seems like they can fix such inconsistencies before selling the product. I have another Schumacher charger that is over 20 years old and still works so I hope it's made just as well.
