My first inflatable was a Challenger and I still love using it but wow. Excursion Pro is a big update! The only problem I had was figuring out how to use the air valves, which are different than those on the Challenger. I kept losing air as soon as I removed the peristaltic pump, but then I realized I had to turn the valve before adding air and then it worked fine. This summer I had a great time with my new kayak. No problems with seams/leaks. I was able to carry it myself, although it was a bit heavier than the Challenger, which is smaller. However, it is worth it. I haven't used it for fishing so can't comment on how well it works for that. I only used it for rowing. Compared to the Challenger, the Excursion Pro rides better and rides faster, but both are good for beginners. I only have single versions and think it would be difficult for a taller person to be comfortable in the Challenger while there is plenty of legroom in the Excursion Pro.
