There must be a certain number of broken ones. On what I have it's almost impossible to get into the locking mechanism as it backs out too much - if it then goes in the ratchet will stop working and then it's almost impossible to get the bit back out. I had to use channel locking pliers on the lip of the adapter and push as hard as I could to *barely* pull back enough to disengage the locking mechanism and pull the bit back out. To top it off, if you're buying from Alazco - the given return policy only redirects to the Revain policy - but in practice they don't allow returns. When I pointed this out to the Revain representative via chat, they were kind enough to refund my money. Now I will look for the part I need.
