I took two Chivinis on a 10 hour trip and wanted to make sure they were safe in the car. Their straps were attached to the bucket seats, and I wish the straps were a little shorter so they couldn't come out of the seats, but at least they held them in place better than just dangling in the car. . For most of the drive, they lay just behind the bucket seats on the car seat. This made it easy to pull them out of the car one at a time as they were both buckled up. I would like to point out that one of the harnesses I use for my dog has two hooks and I struggled to unhook the strap from the harness. But my other dog has a single hook harness and it was very easy to undo when I needed to get it out of the car.
