Review on 🌲 Timeless Fun: Lincoln Logs Anniversary Edition - Authentic Real Logs for All Ages by Kwesi Delgado

Not the Lincoln Logs I grew up with and loved! Came with 1 bad part and 2 missing parts

My grandson is 7 years old and I've always wanted to give him some blocks as toys but never did until I finally did. I grew up listening to Lincoln Logs and had so many hours of fun with them that I thought this would be the best gift for him so I bought the 111th Anniversary Edition. All the sets seem quite pricey for what you get but I figured decent quality real wood might be a bit pricey so it's worth it. The set arrived quickly and the tin was huge - like a holiday popcorn tin - but "very" light. Opened it up and the pieces didn't look or feel like real natural wood to me. It looks like a composite that probably "contains" real wood. The pieces were very smooth, slippery and light with some pieces fitting fairly well and others not so well where the fit was very loose and allowed a lot of movement. Only FOUR long elements (4 steps) and many small tiny fragments (one prong), no elements with 3 cutouts, which severely limits the building possibilities. There were several construction drawings on the box, but only assembly instructions for the main thing. The instructions were pretty clear, but halfway through, one of the corner "piles" ended up higher than the others when they were all about to be assembled. the same height so that one of the four long pieces can lie flat. So this long part was like a "swing" and I didn't think we could finish it, but we went ahead and made it. Turns out there was a part or two that wasn't made/cut correctly as far as I could tell, so that particular batch couldn't be repaired. We then finished and built 2 "fences" in the front when we realized we were missing 2 very small pieces so had to make adjustments to complete the project. So I guess I'll just send it back. I've put it on and I'm not sure I'll buy another one.

Pros

Cons
