Next time Turkish cotton

First impression does not match the description on the site nor many of the reviews. If they get softer and taller after washing, as suggested by the seller, I'll raise my rating. I will compare them to FrontGate Turkish cotton towels. FrontGate: They cost an arm and a leg. and another hand. Unusually soft and thick when new; The softness remains but the thickness melts away with the wash. The hinges are so tight (good) that I need a magnifying glass to see they aren't single row. The colors have a nice shine when new, but this shine fades after washing. The seams are very clean, looks like high-quality workmanship. But it's not worth a small fortune given the loss in bulk and shine. Superior 900: good price. Not particularly soft, just a little thicker than regular towels. I wouldn't call them "luxury", just better than average. Loops are obviously loops; obviously a less luxurious feel than with firmer hinges. The color cast is ok, but initially mostly flat. The stitching is strong, but while the FrontGates has perfect, strong stitching with a single tight straight stitch (a cool look), the Superior has a double chain stitch, leaving the edges rough and just not looking particularly stylish. Conclusion: For me, towel quality is mainly about softness and loft. They fail to impress in either of those areas; They represent a decent price for a good, not great, towel set. So next time I'll look for reasonably priced Turkish cotton that retains plenty of softness and bulk.
