Does not include the locking mechanism

Looks great. It might fit, but it doesn't have a mortise lock. Replace your old grip, except for the moving parts that could break. If you were like me and read the description: REPLACING OLD OR BROKEN DOOR HANDLES. If your door handle is broken, old or ugly, don't replace the door entirely, just buy a new sliding patio door handle set! (Mine don't snap well and it takes a bit of fiddling to get it to click.) But this one doesn't have a locking mechanism. Just a lever. So it's useless to me. Worse than useless because I wasted my money and time waiting for it. If I were to buy a door knob for a regular door, I wouldn't expect to buy the locking mechanism separately. So damn me for not knowing it was different I guess. But it would have been nice to know that before opening the package and trying to install it.
