This 12w solar panel was purchased to replace the 5w panel used to charge the RV battery. I liked the fact that I could get more than twice the performance in a slightly smaller package. The small size allows for easy portability, which is important for my application. The panel is very solid and works as advertised. The junction box is not sealed, which might be an issue for some users. The panel comes without mounting hardware and cannot be tilted. You must provide what you need. A bypass diode is installed on the panel, which allows you to connect multiple devices in a serial array. In my application, I connect a panel directly to the battery, so I had to put a blocking diode in series. There is enough space in the junction box for this. As for the series blocking diode, I use a solar panel to extend my outdoor camping time. It's not big enough to provide all the power needed to run the RV, so I don't have to use a charge controller. A diode is required for direct connection to prevent the battery from being discharged during the night. A series blocking diode is not required when using a charge controller. This panel should work fine if it suits your application.
