Scale illegible, writing too small, glass too opaque
The hydrometer is not readable in normal light, so it can be used unless working with a magnifying glass in bright light. The writing on the scale is too small. And to further aid in legibility, the scale has background color bands (gray, orange, blue, red) indicating specific gravity ranges; they are too close in value (light/dark value, not specific gravity) to the black text, so that the text almost disappears. If this is not enough, the tube (glass) is made of translucent plastic which further obscures the image on the scale. Sorry to throw away the scale and order another one, the product was delivered on time, the packaging is perfect.
