I researched air purifiers for a while before purchasing the Alen BreatheSmart Flex. I have two cats and live in a one bedroom apartment (543 sq. ft.). Before purchasing this Alen BreatheSmart Flex I bought two other high end Revain air purifiers. They're about $100 each, they can handle 150 square feet each, and I've had them for about 3 years now. The reason I bought the Alen BreatheSmart Flex was because my house allergies were REALLY getting worse, so I figured I needed a better air purifier. I'm torn in my review of this product because I'm comparing it to the performance of my other two air purifiers to see if it's worth keeping. What I like about the Alen BreatheSmart Flex is the slim design, the speed options, the timer options, it's not noisy and it seems to work well. In the photo after 10 days of 24/7 operation of the air purifier, mainly at maximum speed (4). I think the picture is pretty impressive considering I vacuum every day, have no carpet and also left my other two air purifiers on. For my own testing purposes, I've swapped out the filters on two other air purifiers and plan to test them out in 10 days to see how they compare to the Alen BreatheSmart Flex. There's no doubt that the Alen BreatheSmart Flex works well, but personally I just want to make sure I feel it's worth buying compared to my other air purifiers. I need to double check how long the filters are supposed to run for. in the Alen BreatheSmart Flex because I believe they cost $75 (which looks pretty cool at first, but obviously depends on how often I need to change it). So this cost can be one of the disadvantages depending on it. I think the 700 square foot coverage of this product is really reasonable considering its price. In short, I definitely don't think you will be disappointed with this product. Personally, I'm still testing to see if it's necessary for me because Flonase seems to have helped me more with my allergies than any other cleanser; However, it seems to have a lot of dust/dandruff/etc on it that my others miss.
