My daughter has hypermobile joints and also plays sports - not a great combination. It often hurts, especially in the legs and ankles. These socks say "for feet that hurt during or after activity" which I kind of dismissed as hype. But my daughter has been trying to live in these socks ever since she got them. It turns out that not only do they keep you warm on those chilly fall days, but her feet are less of an issue since she's been wearing them. The socks are made in the USA and are made of 84% polyester, 14% nylon and 2% spandex. They were a little rough when we opened them but softened after washing. The care instructions said to wash and dry them inside out, which I did, and used liquid fabric softener as directed. These socks are thick but wick sweat away from your feet so they're warm but not hot. Overlays have been added to the heel, ball of foot and front calf. The extra support and padding that is added really improves the comfort of the socks. The seam lays evenly and does not bother the toes. I bought her shoe size (it's a large size that fits a 4.5-6) and they fit perfectly so I'd say true to size although I'm sure they will tend to be snug fitting shoes feel tighter. These socks also come with a lifetime guarantee so you can always exchange them if you're not satisfied. I find it hard to believe that we would have to call on the guarantee, but it's nice.
