I bought this bazooka because I was too cheap to buy a double bottom for 4 times the price and I have no regrets at all. I was using a local home brew shop owner's mash tun and wanted to build my own so I wouldn't have to keep using it. After hearing that it cost him about $120 to build, I started looking for ways to save money. I built this mash tun for $58, you can't beat it. The LHBS owner and I brewed the same beer side by side, I used my mash tun with a bazooka pipe and he used his double bottom mash tun and we were about the same potency. I've brewed 3 times with this mash tun and the bazooka tube works great. One thing I could do would be to put a hop sock over it to filter out the smaller grain particles that go through the sieve, but it's not necessary. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.
