I wanted a few additional pairs of short socks to use for mountain biking and road biking. Also, I tend to use the same socks for hiking as well. These ankle height socks made by Hissox so far are working well for both of those uses. The are slightly thicker than most of my cycling socks, but the weather is quickly cooling off where I live in the mountains so that extra bit of warmth is coming in handy.I do prefer socks made of merino wool, but you definitely pay quite a bit more for those. These are great daily use biking socks, and even just walking around type of socks as well. These socks definitely are quite a bit more stretchy than other socks I own, so if you are between sizes, I think these will be a great option. These also are extremely soft and very comfortable socks. The only negative I've found so far, is they do tend to take longer to dry than most of my other pairs of cycling socks. This could be an issue when I'm doing wet weather riding. One issue that always comes up with biking, is someone always forgets things on biking trips. I tend to keep a spare pair of socks in my vehicle just for this reason, and at this price point I don't mind handing these off to a friend to borrow.
