I was happy with this scanner until I scanned my third or fourth document. (Unfortunately, this happened after the 90-day warranty expired.) When scanning the document, I heard a rattling noise and the scanner stopped scanning. I looked under my document and saw through the scanner glass that a small white plastic cap was loose. The strap that pulls the scanner back and forth has come loose from its top axle because that cap that was supposed to stay on the end of the top axle has come loose. (Note to HP: The cap needs to be screwed or glued in like a screw to keep it from popping out.) I tried emailing hp.com asking for help, to open the scanner and repair it yourself. ,
