Review on HP Sprocket Portable Photo Printer (White) With Additional 20 Sheets ZINK Sticky-Backed Photo Paper by Frank Harwood

as many describe here

I have always argued about buying this printer. I really wanted one, but as a "toy" purchase, it just didn't fit my budget. In the end I broke down and gave it to myself for Christmas. and I'm not nearly as impressed with it as I thought it would be. My main complaint is that, as many others have said, the print quality appears to be very good. I often get horrible line artefacts in my photos, as many describe here. They're not that noticeable in some photos, but they're definitely there and sometimes affect the colors a lot. I understand that this will never be a high-quality print, but even for frivolous shots, it's pretty bad at times. I definitely noticed that the pressure tends to fade when the battery is not fully charged. It's good that it's a workaround, but I think it's poor quality when HP sells a 'wireless' printer that basically needs to be fully charged to work properly. You can also calibrate the film with the orange card that comes in the box, as each box is slightly different and needs to be calibrated. Sometimes these things help, sometimes not so much. And each test print costs about $0.50, so that's a shame. I really hope HP can improve this with software updates. Good things: - You can choose to print photos with hidden information. If you scan such an image with the app, it will show you some geolocation data and other photos you took that day. It's cool and technical. The app is pretty nice. I noticed that it offers a billion little frames, but none of them look like a Polaroid. Find out. :P- The app allows you to draw on a piece of paper and take pictures to create a transparent .png appearance that you can later use as an overlay. This is a nice little feature. I hope they add more of these toys to the app, it's fun. - I really like how anyone who connects to the camera can tap on it. Very cool for parties. - The device itself is slim and light, easy to carry. - Prints on thick paper, good quality and strong glue. - The app was easy to install and set up, no problems. with bluetooth connection. The app finds the photos with no problem and my phone finds the printer most of the time before I even ask. I think even if you weren't tech savvy you could set it up and enjoy it without too much trouble. If only they could improve the print quality a bit, it would be almost perfect! But right now that's a pretty big disadvantage for me, especially at this price point where you can get a small Instax camera for a lot less.
