I really wanted to love this product. But it didn't work out the way I had hoped. In my opinion it is not effective on thicker than stage 2 baby food. My daughter is 1.5 years old and eats homemade puree, mostly without added water. These thicker purees simply could not be efficiently transferred from the filling station to the bag. I pushed as hard as I could and introducing him just wasn't effective. I think it would work for more liquid baby food but I can't say much about it. This also created a great deal of confusion when using the gas station. Maybe I'd get cleaner with practice, but I didn't use it more than 3 times before I gave up. What I also don't like are the bags that come with it. They say they can be reused, but there's no hole in the bottom to effectively clean them (like other reusable bags). So what you basically have to do is fill the pouch with soapy water, put the cap on, shake it and then rinse while trying to clean it. However, baked-on food on the inner corners is difficult to remove. I used the bundled packs a few times before giving them up. I couldn't bear the thought of mold growing in there because I couldn't see inside. If I were you, I'd just skip the gas station and buy reusable grocery bags. They are reusable with a zippered bottom opening. You can fill them simply by pouring food straight in through the large bottom opening. They work well in baby food and thicker purees for toddlers. The only downside is that you can't see what's inside from the outside (in case you forget what you filled it with). I gave this product 2 stars instead of 1 because I think it might be suitable for baby food. . In addition, the station is compatible with many other branded bags. In general, this is a good idea, but needs some tweaking to make it more user-friendly.
