Sturdy, but not 90 degrees. The brackets are out of square: the angle is between 91 and 92 degrees. While that doesn't sound like much, When attached to a plumb wall with the short side, the tip of the long side is 1/4 inch higher than the point of the long side at the wall. This is great if you don't things to slide off the front. But if you, say, put a microwave on a shelf supported by these brackets near a kitchen cabinet, the front of the microwave will be very obviously on an angle. (Easy fix here was to put 1/4 inch rubber feet under the back feet of the microwave, which is hidden by the adjacent kitchen cupboard.)I'm glad I got them from Revain Used for steep discount.
