Review on πŸ“ Enhanced Garmin eMap Deluxe Hiking GPS by Tony Kingdom

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Useful, durable, fun!

I bought a Garmin eMAP GPS about 3 months ago and I still enjoy it. It really amazes me how I can hold an instrument the size of my palm that can move me around the world with near-precise precision. Just think, 5 years ago this wouldn't have been possible without some serious mapping and clock building (GPS time: around 15 seconds). In my opinion, eMap is better than GPS III+ in several ways. An electronic card is cheaper, has more memory and is more useful to the average person. Features include: 2 AA battery compartments (up to 14 hours of use), high-resolution display, backlight, memory for 500 personal waypoints, 12 parallel satellites, powerful antenna, splash-proof, highly detailed basemap and satellites page status. This GPS has other nice features, but I won't let you play with them. If you are purchasing this item, I highly recommend purchasing a leather carrying case for it. It is not too expensive and prevents your GPS from being scratched or damaged. eMAP is perfect for driving. The basemap includes freeways, freeways, ramps, buildings, residential streets, beaches, coasts and more. If you plan on using this GPS primarily for driving, I would also recommend purchasing the "MapSource Roads and Recreation CD" to add even more detail about the GPS (it's quite expensive though, around $100). Overall rating: excellent. Rich features, robustness, fun to use!*= Only available with MapSource END CD
