So I tried several battery powered Bluetooth receivers to create a wireless connection between my iPhone and a headphone amp and wired headphones. Bluetooth headphones just don't have the power to deliver the listening experience I enjoy. After trying to drop 4 other devices that colored the sound by adding bass and polluting low frequencies to devices that simply cut the dynamic range of the sound in half, all other devices were sold or returned. I was determined to keep looking and I'm glad I did. This little device was what I was looking for all along. Good sound! This unit provides adequate linear volume and very clear, unadulterated sound for my headphone amp. The only way I can tell the difference between this device and a wired connection from an iPhone to an amp is because this device reverses the left and right channels. In a preliminary listening test with music I was very familiar with, the only difference to a wired connection was the left/right channel switching. With other music I was unfamiliar with, I couldn't tell the difference between this unit and a wired connection. Any Bluetooth receiver that plays both audio and a direct wired connection is good enough for me and should work for you too. As a bonus, this little guy's battery life is amazing. Listening all day is no problem. I noticed some audio artifacts when both this unit and my Fiio Mont Blanc headphone amp were plugged into the same power supply at the same time. I also thought it might be a problem with the cables I was using. The setup is a bit cumbersome, since the receiver, amplifier and headphones are plugged in along with the power supply unit, but the iPhone remains free. This delivers amazing sound with enough power to please everyone. Don't buy others. Try it and be happy. Thank you and sorry it took so long.
