I read all the reviews about valve leaks and broken valves and decided to give it a try anyway. Yes, the 6" top cap is leaking, but that's an easy fix. Teflon tape. 5 or 6 turns. Ready. There are no leaks from above and all CO2 exits the lock as it should. Glue the bottom flap firmly. (I did 8 turns) and DO NOT tighten the valve like a gorilla, just tighten it. The same with the bottom glass. I turned it all the way and made another 1/32 turn. Perfect, no leaks. They warn you in the manual not to overtighten. I haven't put it on and it doesn't flow at all. You'll have to wait to see how well the valve holds up, but it feels like the dips are being caused by something in the must getting stuck in the valve mechanism, preventing it from closing. The valve handle snaps into place, so use caution here too. .
