Cheap plastic but works.

Bought this headset last April. The product works as described. No problems with connection and use. My issue however is that the headset didn't even last 1 year before the plastic over the swivel mount deteriorated, cracked and now the ears are connected to the top with just a tiny wire. No structural reinforcement, just plastic. And it happened on BOTH sides at about the same time. I think a $130 headset will last AT LEAST as long as my previous $20 headset ALSO from TurtleBeach and lasted at least 5 years before I got a job and just couldn't take it that the pads didn't last anymore my ears fit and generally were uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. I was sure that after such a long run with them and NO issues (other than comfort) a more expensive headset would be great! nope In fact, it appears to be of much lower quality. After all, the cheaper plastic headset was THE ENTIRE AREA! The tabs that slide the hood back and leave room for your glasses are great and make them fairly comfortable to wear, but that doesn't make up for the fact that the headset has become unusable even after a year. Look, this is a gaming headset. It is undressed and put on again countless times! It should NOT crumble just by bending it! They have a solid metal band running above! Could you spare another 2 inches to make sure the plastic underneath doesn't succumb? To be honest I am very disappointed here. I was expecting audio issues at worst. It never occurred to me that the plastic would tear with normal use. And when I say normal usage, I mean it. I'm not rough with my electronics. Aside from the broken plastic, the thing is intact.
