Last month I lived in a 28ft RV. Among other things, we were recommended to buy a small dehumidifier. The reason is that RVs are pretty airtight. Simple activities like showering, washing dishes, and even breathing create a lot of moisture in the air that can't escape. When it gets cold, you'll see massive amounts of condensation on windows, bathroom walls, etc. If you don't remove the moisture from the air, your RV can start to mold or mildew and smell moldy. noticed this model at Camping World - grossly overpriced of course - so we knew it would suit our motorhome. The Home Depot rep said they could order it, but we were actually able to get it at a discount on Revain. While it may seem a bit pricey for the small size, it definitely helped us. This dehumidifier is really easy to use. You just place it on the floor or counter about a foot away from walls or furniture, then turn it on and go. The cord is over ten feet long, allowing you to place it a reasonable distance from any outlet. As long as it's on and the tank isn't full, you'll see a small green circle on the front of the device. When it's full, the circle turns red. There is a small float in the tank that turns on the switch to allow this to happen. Thanks to the built-in handle, you can easily move it from place to place. This dryer is very small. It measures 14 inches high, 8 inches wide and 5 inches back to front. Therefore, the capacity of the tank is small - about 6 cups. However, it is not yet filled with our small space. If I run it constantly, it accumulates about 1/2 cup of water per day. I drain it every day or so because I don't want to clean the tank or risk it tipping over, spilling, etc. It's pretty easy to remove the tank to drain it. I don't waste water, so I pour it into my polyurethane drinking pitcher. The little green indicator light is pretty bright. As long as he's not in front of our bed at night, that's okay. Works almost like a night light. The device makes a steady noise like a fan, but for us it serves as a comfortable source of "white noise" when camping in crowded RV parks. The only thing I don't like about this device is that the power adapter gets very hot during operation. One day I came home and I smelled the smell of burning. Nothing was damaged but our plastic panel where it was standing was very hot. Now we don't leave it on when we're not there. If you're looking for a dehumidifier to remove moisture from a small space, this is an affordable, efficient choice that's portable enough to take up very little space. Just make sure you don't mount the power supply on something that is flammable or cannot handle heat.
