I bought this product specifically to block UV rays from entering my home. According to the product description, this film blocks 99% of UV rays. But in my experience, this film does not really protect against UV. When it arrived I decided to check it with my driver's license and a black light. Blacklight UV rays will reveal hidden images on a driver's license, but if you shine through a UV-blocking material, no images will appear because the light is blocked. Sunglass lenses, and of course there were no pictures on the driver's license. The glasses correctly blocked black light. However, I then threw a black light through this film and the images on my license came out clear with no noticeable change. This means that the film does not really filter out UV radiation. Now, of course, I can't say for sure if I accidentally received a defective product. I can't judge whether this film acts as heat or glare protection. But if you want something that filters out UV I wouldn't recommend this product at all.
