Irritation Is Thy Name (Runners Be Careful)

I bought these for an ongoing problem I was having with an old soccer injury on my left knee. I'm an aging runner and we all know how vicious daddy time can be. I saw these straps with their surprisingly high ratings and decided to give it a try. So here it is, my honest, unsolicited, and unbiased review. I have included photos to illustrate the glaring flaws of these belts. Here they are, from least painful to most: 1. These straps just won't stay in place when you intend to use them for running. The top strap that goes across the top of the knee (first picture with a white arrow pointing to the pad as a number 8) slips down the kneecap causing discomfort. And the need to constantly change. As you runners know, nothing makes you happier than having to stop, bend down and fiddle with faulty gear. Tell us about the wardrobe malfunction.2. The design of the back of the strap (second image with back of strap circled) causes the strap to twist and slide down, bringing us to the absolute deal breaker with these straps and why they are coming back. 3. The velcro strips that are supposed to hold them in place (first and third pics with white arrows pointing at nasty little devils) literally rub against every part of your skin they touch until you start bleeding as you walk. The stripes aren't obscured by anything, and I couldn't find any adjustments that would make these straps taste good. The good news is I forgot about the kneecap pain from the Velcro Stripe Festival. Call me Mr Brightside. That's it, my friends Revane, my review of those pesky little enemies of the old runner. In the words of the great School Rock, "Knowledge is power."
