Keep my Puggle/Piggle out of the kitchen

Much cheaper than the ER vet. Thinking I was out of my Puggle rescuer's reach, he ate a bag of veggies and a bag of other non-rawhide gummy candy. This resulted in an overnight stay at the vet's in the emergency room. Did you know that emergency veterinarians are severely understaffed? I had to drive the poor little guy almost 70 miles while he moaned on the floor of my car because no one was treating patients in my metro area. Despite the fact that I raised something edible even higher, I don't risk it. I bought this metal screen to keep him out of the kitchen when unattended. It took a bit of fiddling to install this gate, but it didn't take long. The door is wider than the gate I've had in the past. The best I've had so far. And I have had and still have multiple gates to drive my pets. Photograph of the culprit.
