This purchase has been made for a motorcycle, not a bike. Since motorcycle bags are so expensive, I've been looking for bike bags to store some of the extra stuff I usually carry with me. I currently have a couple of roadside demolition tools, a safety vest, some extra phone chargers, my wallet, an extra ID pocket, fuses and a portable radio that I use for work all fit in this bag. All items mentioned fit without opening the side pockets. I placed the bag on the passenger seat of the motorcycle and attached the velcro loop under and around the seat belt. There is not a single worry that the bag will fall off. I had no road in either heavy rain or light rain, and all the contents stayed dry. I wouldn't trust him with heavy rain. Pocket material and zippers hold up well. I opened up the side compartments and was amazed at how much extra space I could get if I ever needed it. Since it meets the requirements of motorcycling, I would trust it to be used on a bicycle. The cost savings compared to real motorcycle bags is definitely worth 5 stars.
